Our client, which is one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals, providing acute care, is looking for Specialty Doctor in Stroke
Job description:
The hospital is looking for enthusiastic team players, who can help to develop services and the future strategy. The successful candidate will be expected to attend clinical meetings and take part in continual medical activities in line with guidelines and will have the opportunity to work in large and developing departments with enthusiastic colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities for patient care, treatment and therapy
- Attendance at A&E to review stroke patients
- Responsibility for day to day ward patient management at registrar Level
- The post holder will provide a high standard of medical care for Patients with Stroke and slow rehabilitation both acute Optimise medical condition and assess rehabilitation potential and assess Cerebrovascular risk and stroke secondary prevention
- Attend consultant ward rounds
- Undergraduate medical student teaching
- The post holder will be encouraged to undergo appropriate training for this post and to keep her/himself abreast of current medical developments in Stroke field
- The post holder will be expected to work closely and harmoniously with other multi-disciplinary staff including Neurologist, Neurophysiologist, Neuropsychologist, Nutrition and Stroke Specialist nurse, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and SALT
- To be actively involved in Stroke Journal, Club and Thrombolysis and Research and Audit
Requirements:
- The Specialty post is a permanent position following a successful appraisal after 12 months, applicants must have MRCS or equivalent to join the existing teams. Applicants must have full GMC Registration
