The Room Attendant plays an important role in transmitting an image of the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. It is therefore important that the Room Attendant keeps his / her corridor and trolley neat and tidy at all times, always is well groomed and presented in the correct attire, and that he/she greets all guests with a smile.
- Cleaning a given number of guest rooms, and related areas, according to company standards and ensuring that a high level of cleanliness is maintained
- Equipping guestrooms with guest supplies according to standard procedure
- Maintaining neatness and tidiness in maid services, service areas and guest rooms corridors
- Using cleaning products and material correctly and with care
- Careful and correct handling of equipment, bed linens and towels
- Correct set-up of linen cart according to procedure, maintaining neatness and tidiness at all times
- Reporting of repair and maintenance defects, and of safety hazards
- Prompt reporting of lost and found items to the Supervisor
- Follow up on special cleaning instructions given by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor
- Being security conscious with keys and open room doors
- Report any unusual occurrences to Housekeeping Manager, Supervisor, or Duty Manager
- Maintaining personal hygiene and neat appearance
- Being helpful and courteous to guests
