The position of Materials/Yard Supervisor will assist in the day to day running of the Materials and Logistics department and reports to the Regional Manager. The Materials/Yard Supervisor has two direct reports.
Oversee the shipping and receipt of all company product lines including locally and internationally.
Oversee the monitoring of stock items by performing weekly inventory checks and cycle counts.
Oversee the annual physic stock check and variance counts.
Oversee the load in/out of equipment and/or spares to the secure yard area.
Manage customs related issues associated with shipping and receiving.
Ensure that the parts stores, warehousing and yard areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
Facilitate local delivery of spare parts.
Provide support to sales, purchasing and service departments.
Transport urgent repairs to customer locations as required.
Transport components to local outside vendors as required.
Supervise and support two Drivers/Stores persons.
Support day to day operations as requested.
Can identify and facilitate the creation of warehouse/yard process improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to read and understand parts picking lists and commercial invoice documentation.
Basic level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and competing demands whilst remaining detail orientated.
Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industrial counterbalance forklift license.
Recognized Banksman/Slinger training.
Recognized Working at Heights training.
Education/Experience:
Five plus years of experience in a stores/warehouse environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Solid understanding of subsea market dynamics and requirements.
Previous supervisory experience desired.
Experience of customs processing (CPC and CC) desired.
Experience of export control desired.
Physical Requirements:
Strength and stamina sufficient to maintain a rigorous work schedule, requiring continuous physical exertion and frequent heavy lifting.
Good eyesight with the ability to see equipment and operate in sparsely lit areas.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers.
Kneeling, bending at the waist and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to load and unload equipment.
Work Environment:
Frequently subjected to interruptions, multiple calls and inquires.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
