Manager BIO Hydro Power

As part of the IT Demand segment you are representing Vattenfall’s Business Unit Hydro Power. Its core activity is electricity generation based on hydro power plants which are located in Finland and Sweden as well as balancing power services based on pump storage plants located in Germany. IT plays a key part in these processes!

As the manager of the Business Information Office (BIO) for Business Unit (BU) Hydro Power you will work in an international role and manage a small team.

We offer an international job where you will act as the link between the business BU Hydro Power and IT – and interact with senior management. You will be in close contact with your counterparts mainly in Sweden and Germany.

BIO Hydro Power is expected to
Act in close cooperation with the BU management to ensure that IT strategy is fully aligned with business strategy, supporting business priorities and operational improvements
Manage IT demand to reach targets for IT performance, including prioritized IT investment portfolio, budgeting and reporting
Together with BU managers drive harmonization of business processes and application consolidation
Drive development of a target application and information architecture and a roadmap leading towards it
Act towards Vattenfall IT Supply as single-point-of-contact in solution design, service management issues, and IT operational issues
Monitor and approve SLAs and project contracts with IT Supply
Manage IT costs, follow-up on IT budget and prognosis
Align and cooperate with BIO Production and BIOs for other energy producers such as Lignite, Nuclear and Thermal.

You will directly report to BIO Production, based in Berlin, and indirectly to the manager of Controlling in BU Hydro Power, based in Luleå. You will work with several stakeholders.

About you
It is required that you have a relevant academic degree, or similar experience gained
You must have a good understanding of business process performance topics, as well as what role IT has and can play to improve business operations
Skilful at balancing requirements and business prioritization
Good knowledge of business processes in a large scale industrial environment
You must have proven track record of working in international setting – this role will require that you work in a truly Pan-European way
You must be fluent in Swedish and English (both oral and writing)
German language skills are a strong asset, while French language skills would be of merit.

We are looking for a person with a willingness to lead people and that can take on a leading role in change management. The role requires strong problem solving and collaboration skills. You are self-driven, have very good cooperation skills with a high cultural awareness.

Detailed technical IT knowledge is not a pre-requisite, but good understanding of the control domain and the security zones 1-3 is helpful to deliver good results. The detailed IT knowledge will be provided by IT Supply. More important is to understand the business processes of hydro power generation and have the ability to translate business needs into IT requirements.

You will be based Luleå. This job requires international travel. You need to be able to work independently in an international team that meets more virtually than physically.
