Experienced / Senior Contaminated Land Project Manager - Kent

We are seeking an experienced and proactive contaminated land Project Manager to join our team. Candidates will be required to take projects from initial design stage through to implementation and completion. Working on a variety of projects (industrial, construction, local authority and domestic/insurance sectors), responsibilities will comprise operation and financial management of the project delivering within budget and programme.

The role will involve leading and working with a multi-skilled team (to include the management of sub-contractors); technical reviews, interpretative report writing; liaison and meetings with clients and regulatory authorities; and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Degree level qualification in an appropriate scientific discipline; we would expect candidates to have 6+ years experience (or equivalent) in geo/environmental; contaminated land; including project management experience.

The successful candidate will have a flexible attitude to work and posses the enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of the role. The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on their own initiative will be essential, along with excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills.

Willingness to travel and a full UK/EC driving license is an essential requirement.
Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget with a strong focus on client care in project management and delivery.

Experience Requirement:
Equivalent to a minimum 6+ years working experience in contaminated land; geo/environmental; civil engineering environment, including project management.
Delivery and project management of contaminated land / remediation projects– value of individual projects typically up to £100k – responsible for all aspects of project delivery including bidding, resource management, client management and project management as well as being technical lead (supported by other discipline leads).
Business development to develop local client base and support national team.
Technical and commercial mentoring of junior staff including line management.

Supervisory experience to include small project teams and / or management of external contractors and specialists.
Experience and working knowledge of Phase I, Phase II and remediation including technical reviews, proposals, conceptual model design, option appraisals, remediation strategies, implementation plans, assessment and reporting.
Experience of the whole project life cycle, able to operate from the initial walkover stage to the close out of the final report, and at each stage in between.
Contract document production and management of contract during siteworks from the office base.
Design, implementation and supervision packages for remediation and demolition (NEC3 and others).
Conversant with health, safety and environmental procedures, quality assurance procedures, financial and commercial procedures.

Relevant supervisory Health & Safety training courses.
Practical experience and knowledge of the implementation of in-situ remediation would be an advantage.
Degree level qualification in an appropriate scientific discipline. Appropriate post graduate qualifications and appropriate professional qualifications (chartership) a significant advantage.
