Job Description:
The Head of Sales will develop and manage the sales function of circa 50 people, comprising of the leadership team of five managers; wider field sales team and internal sales team based in Kent. In addition, you will build ongoing relationships and follow up on business development opportunities with new accounts. This will be achieved by setting and implementing an agreed strategy with robust sales targets that delivers growth. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing and recruiting for the sales function, and undertaking sales analysis of the KPIs. The Head of Sales will work efficiently with the support functions of KCS. In addition you will play an ambassadorial role for the company at events.

The Successful Applicant:
The Head of Sales will have a proven sales track record in leading and coaching through sales managers with a passion for leadership. They will have a track record of change management and implementing strategies to drive performances with a logical / analytical approach and a hands-on / practical delivery. Experience within Business Services would be of particular interest, although all other industries will be considered. You will be comfortable working as part of a matrix structure with the aptitude to build strong internal relationships, working closely with cross functional teams and be able to challenge and influence your team and management. You will be extremely disciplined and motivated with the capability to champion and drive change, as well as work with minimum supervision. The successful Head of Sales will have excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with strong business acumen & commercial awareness, to be able to influence and persuade decision making at Director Level. You must be commutable to their Head Office in Kent on a daily basis and be willing to travel nationally.
