Account Manager - Finacial Services

Work for the leading information consultancy based in Victoria.
They are now looking for an Account Manager to deliver subscription sales growth

About Our Client:

Our client are an independent economic consultancy founded in 1999 and based in London. They are retained by both financial, industrial and commercial companies to provide regular analysis and advice on the state of the UK and world economies and the prospects facing their own sectors.

They have offices in London, North America and Asia. The company is extremely ambitious and it would hope to expand this headcount within the next two years.

Job Description:
Due to continued growth, our client are setting up a dedicated account management team for the first time. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of four (initially) to deliver subscription based sales growth in existing named accounts and to help to shape their account management strategy as the team grows.

You will be responsible for developing stronger and closer relationships within a large portfolio of our existing client base; connecting with primary users of our services and account facilitators. You will communicate periodically throughout the subscription year in order to ensure the timely and successful delivery of their services and the continued renewal of the subscription services. You will also be expected to call as many of your users within each account as time allows (time management will be a key skill!) to ensure that you are meeting each of their needs.

A key element of this role is to negotiate price rises and identify and grow the number of upsell and cross sell opportunities.

For that purpose the role also requires a strong element of finding new business opportunities within the accounts, as the post holder will be expected to develop upsell opportunities through new budget lines, departments and where appropriate, growing accounts into global agreements.

Initially the role will be almost entirely telephone-based, with only the occasional meeting with key clients - largely because there will be a very large number of clients and users to call. Over the longer term, especially as they grow the account management team, there should be more capacity to meet more clients in person and hence provide personal development opportunities to the right candidate.

Working with an existing client base, you will be responsible for retention of multiple accounts, negotiating price rises where applicable, through to up-selling and on-going account planning.
Predominantly in-house telesales initially. Some visits/presentations when required.
Your primary task will be to renew and upsell subscriptions to existing client organisations at senior management and director levels.
Adopting a consultative account management approach to drive usage and value.
Identifying any 'at risk' clients months in advance to take appropriate action.
Ensuring maximum revenue generation through effective negotiation.
Strong time management, especially juggling many renewals each month with calls to users.
Maintaining accurate client records with accurate use of CRM (Salesforce).
Accurate renewal forecasting and forecasting.
Researching organisations and markets to develop new areas of opportunities.
Developing your understanding of the products, competitors and clients.
Working with the Marketing and Sales teams on likes of usage reports and marketing campaigns.

The Successful Applicant:
Minimum 2/3 yrs prior strong B2B Sales/Account Management track record & experience.
Previous experience of subscription/business information/finance sector would be an advantage.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Proven track record of meeting sales targets in a consultative sales environment
Ability to juggle accurate admin and renewal processes with proactive client contact.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Motivation to work independently and closely with colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple commercial processes, forecast with precision and identify challenges to a positive commercial outcome.
Strong business acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adaptability.
An interest in the financial sector would be advantageous. This role requires stability, a solid sales pedigree and genuine ambition.

What's on Offer:
Up to £35K base + target commission of £20k, so initial OTE of up to £55K - but with substantial and uncapped opportunity to over-perform.
