Pulse International is looking for a Director of Nursing for Al Ain Hospital.

Job description:

The hospital is situated in the centre of Al Ain, the ‘Garden City of the Persian Gulf’. It’s close to the Oman border, mid-way between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and is affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University and the clinics of the Medical University of Vienna and its teaching hospital.

Currently Al Ain is a 412-bed, modern, acute-care hospital and is accredited by the Joint Commission of International Accreditation (JCIA).

To meet growing demand and further improve standards of care, a new 688-bed hospital is now under construction and is due for completion in 2013. The new, innovatively designed hospital is being built around lush oasis gardens and will be a regional centre of excellence in all specialties of medicine.

The successful candidate for the post of Director of Nursing will lead the hospital’s Nursing & Midwifery Leadership Team, ensuring the provision of the best clinical care, customer satisfaction and patient safety. He / she will be responsible for the administration, performance and financial management of the hospital’s nursing and midwifery services, with a particular focus on quality, risk management and patient safety.

The successful candidate will be an western-trained Registered Nurse holding a Master’s degree in Nursing / Healthcare or a relevant field. (A PhD in Nursing or Health Services would be an advantage as would experience in the processes of international accreditation.) At least ten years of clinical experience with three years in a DON role (or five years as ADON) are required. (Note: a certified PhD will count as three years experience.)
