Anaesthetic and Intensive Care doctors to work as RMO/ Fellow in Adult Intensive Care Unit and Adult High Dependency Units - LONDON

HCL Permanent, one of the UK’s largest providers of healthcare recruitment, is looking for experienced Doctors specializing in Intensive Care and Anaesthesia to join a friendly team in a prestige private hospital in London.

Job description:

Title: Fellow in Adult Intensive Care Unit and Adult High Dependency Unit

The fellow in AICU will provide 24 hours care for critically ill in the 7-bedded Adult ICU/HDU and the outlying patients at the Hospital under Consultants supervision, and will also provide a safety net for patients on the wards requiring emergency respiratory, cardiovascular support and epidural management, or who are potentially at risk of critical illness.

Clinical Duties: Clerk admissions to the Adult ICU and HDU, respond to requests to review any patient with the Hospital with a potential critical illness and those that may require additional support and expertise from the critical care team i.e. epidural management, maintain accurate and chronological treatment records in the patient’s notes, to undertake emergency procedures, including resuscitation as required, according to Hospital Policies.

Requirements:

  • GMC (General Medical Council) - full registration
  • Excellent English
  • Resuscitation and Anaesthesia or Intensive Care experience is highly priced
  • Must have minimum of 3 years work experience post graduation within Intensive Care or Anaesthesia in an acute hospital settings
  • Competency in basic ward-work skills is a must-have: Minimum of 100 blood taking, minimum of 100 cannulations as well as experience in doing and interpreting ECGs, urethral catheters, nasogastric tubes and arterial blood gases
  • Paediatric experience is an added advantage
  • UK experience is an added advantage

Terms

  • The basic salary shall be £22.58 per hour plus £2.42 per hour holiday pay, totalling £25.00 per hour less tax and national insurance contributions which should properly be deducted. Salary is paid from the time of the commencement of the rotation and not during the handover period
  • These positions are 6 months contract, which can be extended for further 6 months if you wish
  • Before you start your employment, you will need to attend a 1 week long course in the UK, which will involve: One Day RMO Introductory Course, ACLS Course and PALS Course. You will be issued Official Certificates which are valid for 2 years. The course is extremely beneficial and all the doctors who attended this course were extremely complimentary about the course

  • Full support from our specialist recruitment team on hand 24 hours, 7 days a week

  • At its sole discretion The Company will make advance payments to the RMO for the cost the ACLA and PALS training courses on the condition that the RMO agrees that this can be deducted from the RMO's firs 3 months salary
