We are now looking for a Service Leader for the Ray wind farm (currently in construction near Kirkwhelpington in Northumberland) and to join the UK Onshore Wind Operations team in Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind.
The Service Leader for Ray will support the O&M Manager (North UK) to interface with our contractor’s supervisors / service technicians and help maintain the Ray site’s operational & technical performance. When required, this role will work alongside the Senvion service technicians and in the future there is the possibility of being part of mixed teams carrying out the day-to-day activities of scheduled and unscheduled work in line with maintenance requirements. Together with our main service contractors, you are responsible for safely optimising the daily production of the Ray wind farm.
Your responsibilities as a Service Leader:
Support the O&M Manager (North) to take-over Ray wind farm from construction team and then control all operational activities on Ray wind farm through the implementation of rigorous and documented processes;
Coordinating work progress at Ray throughout the working day, work planning and recording in SAP;
When required, work alongside Senvion service technicians, You will be responsible for climbing wind turbines and supporting fault diagnosis, managing the technical resolution of failures of equipment and performance of plant;
Monitor, analyse and manage the operational and HSE performance of Ray including the performance of any contractors;
Support the performance reporting that provides key performance indicators - ensure the relevant daily, weekly, monthly reporting deadlines are met;
Organise, support and assist in internal and external audits and inspections of own personnel and contractors for compliance with quality and safety standards;
Support with facilities management and site administrative activities as required e.g. Provide site inductions and tool box talks to site personnel;
Work to agreed targets against the Ray site team’s defined KPI’s (including local adjustment of availability calculations, and carrying out alarm analysis);
Support the execution of work on site in accordance with WTSR and Electrical Safety rules and achieve the relevant authorisations;
Provide out of hours and weekend response in accordance with the Ray site team’s Emergency Response Plan (some flexibility required regarding working hours);
Maintain maintenance records, service manuals and procedures in the Vattenfall and/or Senvion Document Management System (e.g. AWPs, Method statements, etc) to support full historical traceability of service work carried out;
Support other operations across UK onshore wind portfolio as required.
Your qualifications as a Service Leader:
First of all, you need to show evidence of fulfilling Vattenfall’s leadership capabilities of being Clear, Visible and Courageous.
In addition, you’ll need to have:
A strong technical background with a qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or have completed an equivalent Engineering Apprenticeship, higher qualification is desirable);
It is essential that you will have technical work experience in the wind industry, ideally as a WTSR Authorised technician or higher with a proven track record of fault finding and rectification systems;
Ability to extract core content from complex and diverse information e.g. OEM contracts;
Ability to lead and/or work within multi-cultural and interdisciplinary teams;
Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce concise information for senior management;
When required, ability to work at heights in wind turbine generators (in accordance with RUK/GWO requirements) and in adverse weather conditions;
Experience of HSE requirements and industry best practice e.g. IOSH qualification;
Full driving license and experience of using Microsoft Office software.
