The Client is a leading Brand in its industry with hundreds of sites throughout the UK. The company has a strong reputation for it's employee satisfaction and staff retention.
To encourage, develop and and challenge and where necessary, recruit a team of retailers with the appropriate skill base commitment and drive for the business to ensure there own and the company's growth objectives are met.
To produce & implement a quality, robust strategy plan for the Region at the outset of each financial year which provides for sustainable organic growth, and is in pursuit of the key business drivers which include
Efficient recruitment and development of the best retailers
Identification of suitable investment opportunities that provide sustainable returns for both the retailer and Company
Continual improvement in retailing standards through business advice, portfolio management, retailer development and quality reviews
The adoption of a challenging approach to retailers who fail to exploit the commercial opportunities within their businesses
Effective management of the rent review programme to ensure that rent reviews are concluded at appropriate levels and on time
The effective liaison with all functions within and outside the DBU.
The Successful Applicant:
Communication: Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with honesty, integrity and with the passion and credibility to persuade.
Commercial Awareness:Possess acute awareness of the Industry, the marketplace, its trends and the current and future needs of consumers. Identify and exploit opportunities, identify and manage risks, demonstrate the ability to analyse information and take appropriate action.
Consumer Focus:Demonstrate the ability to convert sound commercial awareness into a strategic vision for the Region which takes account of demographics, segmentation, the skill set of the retailer that is needed to deliver the proposition and the ability to recruit, train, coach and develop the retailer to unlock the full potential of the business.
Planning & Organisation:Possess the ability to translate the strategic vision for the region into an action plan which demonstrates an understanding of the impact of the action and its timing on the regional P&L and maximises the utilisation of the resources available to the Regional Manager, whether they are within or outside the DBU.
Innovation & Vision:Through a clear understanding of the marketplace and the changing needs of consumers, demonstrate a willingness to embrace fresh ideas and implement them both in the context of the retail proposition and overcoming internal and external barriers to delivering a successful win/win outcome.
Leadership:Take responsibility for the performance of the Region, take ownership of personal development, demonstrate an ability to see the bigger picture and embrace a culture of sharing best practice with the DBU and the virtual team with passion and energy.
Sales & Negotiation:Utilise retail sales techniques to drive the regions performance. To be a first class negotiator in order to achieve organic growth through agreement management and initiatives.
Experience of a retail environment
Experience of merchandising a retail environment
Understanding of the importance & impact of pricing in a competitive market place
Knowledge of licensing laws, health and safety food legislation

£45000-£52000 per annum + 20% + Company Car
